Kourtney and Edson’s October wedding was colorful, joyful, full of tradition, and SO MUCH FUN to photograph.

They were married at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, where they also held their reception later that evening. From the bright florals to the mix of Greek and Mexican traditions throughout the day, their wedding felt incredibly personal to the two of them, which is always one of my favorite things to see on a wedding day.

A Colorful Fall Wedding in Dallas

If you need proof that your fall wedding does not have to mean muted, earthy colors, this is it.

Kourtney and Edson leaned fully into color with bright pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens. The bridesmaids wore different colored dresses, Edson wore a green suit, and Kourtney’s veil might have been one of my favorite details of the entire day.

Her veil from Belle Botanical Creations® was covered in colorful embroidered florals and tied everything together so beautifully.

And from a photography perspective, don’t be afraid of color! Choosing a palette you genuinely love, rather than one you feel like you’re supposed to choose for the season can add so much personality to your photos.

Their Greek Orthodox Wedding Ceremony

Kourtney and Edson had a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, and it was truly beautiful to witness and photograph.

Greek Orthodox ceremonies are filled with tradition and meaningful moments, which is something to consider when choosing your photographer if you’re planning one yourself. Having someone who is comfortable documenting ceremonies as they naturally unfold means you can stay present rather than feeling like your wedding needs to stop and start for photos.

After the ceremony, everyone stayed at Holy Trinity for the reception, which also meant guests didn’t have to travel to another location before the party started.

A Reception That Felt Like Them

One of my favorite parts of their wedding was seeing both of their cultures represented throughout the celebration. The reception brought together Kourtney’s Greek heritage and Edson’s Mexican heritage, and their families and friends made the entire night an absolute blast.

And I have to mention the food. Their reception was catered by Greek Isles in Dallas, and I am not exaggerating when I say it was easily some of the best wedding food I have ever had.

They ended the night with a private last dance before heading outside for their send-off, something I always love because it gives couples a few quiet minutes together after spending the entire day surrounded by people they love.

Kourtney and Edson’s wedding is such a good reminder that you don’t have to build your wedding around what you’re seeing everyone else do. Choose the colors you love. Include the traditions that matter to your families. Serve food you’re genuinely excited to eat. Make the day feel like the two of you.

Those are usually the weddings that are the most fun to photograph, too.
