Some engagement sessions just flow and Sarah and Ali’s evening at Hotel Ella was exactly that.

Located right in the heart of Austin, Hotel Ella is one of those venues that instantly sets the tone. The historic architecture, warm textures, and timeless charm make it a perfect place to celebrate such a meaningful season of life. It’s romantic without even trying too hard.

Even though their session took place in June, the evening couldn’t have been more perfect. The air was warm, the light was soft and gorgeous, and everything about the session felt relaxed and effortless. The kind of night that makes you just smile. 

We started their engagement photos indoors, taking advantage of the cozy bar area and the stunning lobby and parlor rooms. These spaces added so much character to the gallery. 

From there, we moved outside to explore all that Hotel Ella has to offer. The front porch, the expansive lawn, and the pool area each brought perfect variety to the session. Soft, romantic moments mixed with playful ones, all framed by the venue’s classic Austin charm. Every corner felt intentional, which made the session feel less like “posing for photos” and more like a really fun evening together – which is always the goal.

Sarah and Ali were an absolute joy to photograph – so happy together and so full of genuine affection. Their connection made this session feel extra special, and it has me even more excited knowing they’ll be getting married in Austin on March 21 (yeah in just a few weeks). If this engagement session is any indication, their wedding day is going to be incredible.
