There are plenty of beautiful wedding venues in Texas, but few feel quite as timeless, romantic, and soulfully intentional as Woodbine Mansion. Nestled in the heart of Round Rock, just outside of Austin, this historic estate has all the charm of a romantic getaway without ever leaving Texas.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the chance to work at countless venues and yet, Woodbine keeps calling me back. It’s more than just a pretty backdrop; it’s a space that holds emotion. The kind of place that invites you to slow down, breathe in the moment, and create something truly meaningful.
Whether you’ve already booked the venue or are still in the dreaming stage, here’s why Woodbine Mansion is one of the best wedding venues in Austin – and how to make the most of it.
Let’s start with the obvious: the mansion is stunning. With its grand white columns, big front porch, and timeless Southern architecture, it looks straight out of a storybook. It’s elegant without being overly formal. Historic, but not stuffy. Every corner – from the wide staircase to the vintage chandeliers – feels considered and beautiful.
Pro tip: Plan time for portraits all over the mansion inside and out. The light in every corner is unbeatable.
The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by towering oaks and lush greenery, giving off major romantic garden wedding energy. If weather is a little cold (like in February when I captured Courtney & Vicente’s wedding), you can get married inside and it’s still just as romantic as outside. If you’re dreaming of a garden party vibe with just the right amount of Southern charm, this is it.
You could get married in front of the house, tucked in the back garden, or even inside for a cozy winter wedding – the layout is versatile while still keeping everything connected.
Getting ready at Woodbine doesn’t feel like a pre-wedding scramble – it feels like a moment. The bridal suite is full of soft light, feminine energy, and space to breathe. It’s setup perfectly for hair & makeup, and I love how calm and serene it feels for photos. Your day starts here, and it sets the tone for everything else.
Want that golden glow in your photos? Plan your ceremony to start at least two hours before sunset. That gives us time afterward for relaxed portraits with enough light and space to wander the property a bit without rushing.
Also, plan to be ready early so we can photograph your bridal details and get some quiet, candid shots before the day takes off. You won’t regret building in that breathing room.
Looking for vendors who know how to elevate this space without overwhelming it? Here are a few favorites:
