I will forever love engagement sessions on the water. Rockledge Park is easily one of my favorite locations for engagement photos in DFW. I was so sad when I found out it flooded this summer, and I’m hoping to get back to shooting there this fall. There’s just something effortlessly romantic about a water backdrop, and the rocks at the park add that extra bit of adventure and texture to the session.

Pro tips for your engagement session:

1. Time it right – The best lighting is always that last 45-60 minutes before sunset, especially near water. The glow is unbeatable and adds so much romance.
2. Dress for the vibe – Your outfit should complement the location and be something you feel confident in. Flowy dresses or soft neutral tones work wonders when you’re by the water.
3. Be present – Forget about the camera. Engagement sessions are the perfect excuse to just be in the moment together, and I promise after the first 10 minutes you’ll loosen up and have so much fun.
